About
Palmers Brewery has been brewing its ales since 1794 in one of Britain’s oldest and most spectacular breweries. This is the only thatched brewery in the UK, sitting adjacent to the River Brit just a mile from Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

Beers
Our five Palmers ales are brewed using water from our own naturally rising spring along with the finest ingredients and traditional methods.
- Palmers Copper - a fine session ale (3.7% ABV)
- Palmers IPA - traditional English style IPA (4.2% ABV)
- Palmers Dorset Gold - fresh golden ale (4.5% ABV)
- Palmers 200 - premium ale (5% ABV)
- Palmers Tally Ho! - a dark strong ale (5.5% ABV)
All but our Copper ale is available to buy in bottles.
Tours
This is not just a brewery tour but takes you around our historic brewhouse. Our expert guides take visitors through the production process of our award winning ales from the raw ingredients entering the building and as it works it way down through the brewery. The tour ends in the wine store where you will be able to enjoy a few halves of the final product.
Tours run daily at 11am, Monday to Friday from Easter to October and last two hours.
